Template / Album Designer FAQ's
Q. I am very interested in ordering the Flush Album Designer as soon as possible. How do I go about doing that?
A. If you have already registered the free version of Digital Studio LP, then all you need to do is select Software Registration under Tools on the main menu of Digital Studio LP, in the next window that opens select the second option, (I Have a LabPrints account and I want to Register Additional Parts of Digital Studio LP). Press Next then Select Register Online on the next window, It will open up a window in your web browser, Log in and it will take you to a page where you will select the check box next to the Template (Flush Album) designer. Select next and fill in your credit card information on the following page. Once you have selected Process Transaction, the Flush Album Designer will become registered in your Digital Studio LP.
Q. I am looking for a program to use for this year's flush mount books and I would like to try your sample demo. I don't see a place to get it online. Please enlighten me.
A. Our Flush Album Designer allows for a lab to color correct each image individually before it is flattened and printed. Because of this, you will need to choose the lab you wish to download the software from. Click here for the list of labs available. After you download the software, you will have a 30 day free trial with the Flush Album Designer. The Flush Album Designer is part of the Digital Studio LP software so you won't see it offered by itself.
Q. It looks as if the H/W of layers is in pixels. Is there any way to change it to inches? For example I want a 5x7 layer - the easiest way would be to type in 5 for H and 7 for W.
A. There currently isn't a way to display in inches due to a loss of precision when we translate the positions into high-resolution form for printing at the lab. We are working on this, and you should see this option available in the future.
Q. Is there anyway to output the files made in Template Designer to open in Photoshop?
A. Unfortunately there currently is not a way to export templates into Photoshop, but it is a feature that we are working on and will hopefully be able to make it available in the near future.
Q. Does the Template Designer create high resolution images which can be printed in house? Or does the software only support ordering through a lab.
A. At this time, our software does not allow you to access any of the high-resolution information about the composite. It is currently set up to render at the lab (this is how we can offer retouching/color correction on parts of composites). We do plan on offering a way to get to high-resolution, but that functionality shouldn't be expected for at least a few months.
Q. The resolution of an exported composite was only 72. Is that good enough? Is it possible to do it in 300 dpi?
A. When a composite is exported it is a low-resolution version of the high-resolution version your lab will print out at 300dpi. This will happen automatically and you won't need to adjust any settings or change anything.
