Solution

Windows Installation Errors

There are seven primary error messages you could receive when LabPrints does not download or install successfully on your computer.

Below are the error messages and the steps needed to resolve the errors.
  1. Macro Media Installer: Unable to create installation directory
  2. Not a valid win32 application
  3. Unable to copy xxxx.xxx filename, location not found
  4. Failed to load inconsistent with labprints.dll
  5. Privileges Action (Unsupported major.minor version 49.0) Error log C:\Documents and Settings\username\Temp\install4jError19181.log
  6. Unsupported Major/Minor Jr4 Java Related Error
  7. Others not listed here

Steps to Resolve:
  1. Visit the website http://www.java.com to make sure that you have the latest version of Java installed by clicking Free Java Download
  2. Rename this entire folder on your computer C:\program files\labprints to c:\program files\labprints-old
  3. Download and install the free FireFox web browser from this website: www.mozilla.com
  4. Use Mozilla FireFox to download our installation program www.labprints.com
  5. Once the installer is downloaded, run the installer which should be about 55-65MB in size
  6. Open an existing project or create a new one, then run any updates as prompted

Notes:
  1. We do not recommend running the LabPrints uninstaller as it is not needed
  2. Reinstalling LabPrints will not impact your prior projects in any way
  3. If your prior projects do not appear after installing LabPrints, create a test project with one image in it. This will install the catalog files needed to access your prior projects.

If the above suggestions do not resolve your installation problem, please submit a ticket to technical support by visiting this website.
